Synthetic teak — what is it?
Synthetic teak is a composite material designed to reproduce the look and comfort of natural teak without its maintenance constraints. Made from PVC or technical resins, it is impervious to seawater, UV and temperature swings — conditions every Mediterranean boat must endure.
Bonded to the deck, it delivers a high-end finish, a non-slip surface and far greater longevity than natural teak. It is now the preferred choice of yacht owners who want an immaculate deck without putting their boat in the yard every season.

Bespoke fabrication in our workshop
The synthetic teak is made precisely for your boat. No generic products: everything is custom-made to fit your lines perfectly.
Deck preparation and bonding
Removal of the old teak (if needed), deck levelling, sanding, degreasing, then bonding with two-component marine adhesive. Installation is done in a single pass to avoid reworking, misalignment and bubbles.
Caulking & finishing
Polyurethane caulking injected in the chosen colour, light sanding of edges and corners. The result is clean, with no excess or bubbles.
Quality control & delivery
Alignment, flatness and watertightness checked on every area. The boat is returned clean and ready to sail.

Is synthetic teak slippery when the deck is wet?
No. The surface is grooved and designed to remain non-slip even when wet — often safer than varnished natural teak. A real safety asset for crew and passengers alike.
How long does a synthetic teak deck last?
In Mediterranean conditions (UV, salt, heat), quality synthetic teak properly installed easily lasts over 15 years, without the greying or cracking of natural wood.
What maintenance is required?
Almost none: no sanding, no oil, no annual treatment. Simple cleaning with soapy water keeps the original look. This is the main reason owners choose synthetic. Natural teak, by contrast, needs regular care: see our teak maintenance guide (FR).
How much does synthetic teak decking cost?
Prices start from €580 per m², installation and finishing included. The price varies with the area to cover, deck complexity (hatches, cleats, steps, cut-outs) and the product range chosen. A simple project on a production sailboat without old teak costs less than a boat where teak must first be removed. Every project is unique, so we provide a free quote after studying your boat.
